Replaced a $11k Hoshizaki 900lb ice maker that was nothing but trouble. Bought in 2018. Repairs: $800 2019, $1400 2021, $450 2022, $1800 in 2023…turned down last est for $1700 and went with 2 of these units. 6 months in, same amount of ice. Runs at 25% temp. Auto clean cycles. No issues so far. Plus if one fails, replacement is same as repair and we are still operational waiting for next delivery.

It’s definitely not the highest quality available, but it works well, will hopefully work well for a long time. Only time will tell. Produces large sheets of ice and the scoop provides with it is almost laughable. But the bin holds a lot of ice, it produces fast, the holding compartment is decently insulated but could have been sealed to restrain the ice a little better, could come with more adaptations for water input but most local hardware stores can solve that dilemma. Definitely try to use softened water as the ice making mechanism isn’t easily accessible for cleaning or de hard watering. Over all it is what it’s advertised as. Just could be slightly better quality. Ice stopping is fairly loud can hear it from outside of room with closed doors.
