I want to start by saying that this ice maker is great and works great. I use it every day, and people who don’t have one would benefit so much from having one. It makes ice very quickly, and I’ve had it for about 4 months. The only problem is that it doesn’t keep the ice cold, so it all melts at once. That’s the only problem, but I just empty the tray, and what feels like 30 seconds later, I have ice cubes for my drink. It was kind of loud when it made the ice, but it doesn’t bother me, so I don’t have much else to say.

We had a big group stay with us, and the ice maker in our refrigerator couldn’t keep up. We decided to plug it in, read the directions, and only put spring water in it. The ice turned out great and quickly, which really helped keep the party going. There are some good things and some bad things about the machine, but all in all, we were very happy with it and will use it for our next big party.

Cons (in order of importance): Ice melts when it’s not making new ice (doesn’t last overnight)

Adding more water requires you to remove the ice basket
The full basket light is quickly triggered if even one piece gets stuck on the plastic bar

We’ve been using this ice maker for several hours every day for the past few weeks, and we like it a lot more than we thought we would. Our refrigerator’s ice maker started acting up, and the parts for it are no longer made. This is a much cheaper way to handle the problem than buying a new fridge. We bag the ice and put it in the freezer every time it gets full and shuts off. It doesn’t keep the ice cold and store it for a long time, but once it’s turned off, the ice stays frozen for a long time. You don’t have to hurry to put the ice in the freezer. I’ve read about how to clean the fancier ice machines, and this one seems to be a lot easier to take care of. It does make noise, but it’s in the kitchen, right next to our family room, so it’s not too bad when we’re watching TV. We usually have enough ice for the day after just a few hours of making it. It’s cute, doesn’t take up much space on the counter, and it’s fun to watch it dump a batch of food every nine minutes. We’ll never have to buy ice again, which is the best part. It’s quite a value. “
